A one-time verification code is sent to your registered address via SMS or mail. This proves you are the registered voter at that address without requiring you to submit any documents.

The exact ballot for your precinct appears on your screen — the same races and measures you would see at your polling place. County races, state races, federal races, and ballot measures.

What if I do not have a smartphone?
SuffrageQ works on any internet connected device including desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and library computers. You do not need a smartphone.
What if I do not have internet access?
SuffrageQ is designed to complement existing voting methods, not replace them entirely. In-person voting remains available. SuffrageQ expands access — it does not restrict it.
Can my vote be changed after I submit it?
No. Your ballot is signed with ML-DSA-65 at the moment of submission. Any alteration of your ballot after signing breaks the signature and is immediately detectable by anyone examining the audit chain.
Can anyone see how I voted?
No. Your ballot selections are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage. Your receipt code proves your ballot was counted but reveals nothing about your selections — not to SuffrageQ, not to election officials, not to anyone.
What if I lose my receipt code?
Your ballot is still counted. The receipt code is for your personal verification only. Losing it does not affect your vote in any way.
Is this legal?
Current federal and most state laws require in-person or mail voting for federal elections. SuffrageQ is being deployed for local and municipal elections while we work with legislators to modernize federal election law. We believe every registered voter should be able to vote safely from their phone.
What prevents someone from voting twice?
Your voter registration number can only be used once per election. Once a ballot is submitted under your registration number the system prevents any additional submissions. This is verified cryptographically and recorded in the audit chain.
